Karol Gusak

I'm a programmer with passion for using mobile technology to help people do what they want to do in a faster, smarter, and more optimal way.

My biggest focus is Android, both on app developer and operating system developer level. I like to explore ideas of how various accessory devices and sensors can be used in connection with your smartphone and how does it help you in your life.

Other areas of interest include backend development, programming for performance and memory usage, concurrency, Java and JVM, Python, Linux, open source. Personally I'm interested in psychology, bodybuilding / powerlifting, relation between body and mind.

You can find my blog at

isUserAGoat() is a blog about Android development. I post about technical / development problems I encounter and solutions for those problems. The goal is to simply share whatever I learn so that other developers can benefit from it too.

Goats are extremely curious and intelligent. [...] Goats will test fences, either intentionally or simply because they are handy to climb on. If any of the fencing can be spread, pushed over or down, or otherwise be overcome, the goats will escape. Due to their high intelligence, once they have discovered a weakness in the fence, they will exploit it repeatedly. (Source: Wikipedia)
